We are based in the beautiful old city of Durham in north east England.

For many years, John ran the Film & Mobile Television Service for the Coal Board  in the north east of England and Scotland, making safety and training films at local pits.. He has worked on many major film and television projects and series. John is a lecturer in film and television technology. He is also a qualified competent person on high voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems and hazardous and irradiated substances.

Hilary was a State Registered Nurse before realising her dream to work in the theatre and become a theatre lighting designer/technician. She has worked in various regional theatres and stage managed several tours. In 2000 Hilary graduated from the University of Northumbria with a degree in Art History.

Our first major documentary - 'Brass and Banners', was released in 2000. It is about the history of mining and trade unionism in the UK, though most of the ideas were exported to mining communities around the world.

Since then we have maintained our links with the mining community and diversified into the lesser known aspects of World War 1.
